Registration for Lasers and Double Handed boats

All Lasers–Full, Radial, and 4.7–as well as double handed boats–C420 or I420–register on Regatta Network.  The payment step includes options for registering for two days, all four days, and the Start Clinic on Wednesday, July 12.

A fleet of RS Fevas are available for charter from KO Sailing.  Charter includes an intro clinic to the boat.

All Optimists register with the United States Optimist Dinghy Association (USODA). You can choose to register for two days or all four days.  Registration for the Start Clinic on Wednesday, July 12 is seperate.

US Sailing Membership

All of Texas Youth Race Week, for Optis and everyone all week long, is an official US Sailing Junior Olympic event with sponsors including Sperry, Gill, and New England Ropes. As stated in the Notice of Race, all competitors will be US Sailing members. A youth membership is $30. When you join, make a note of your membership number, you will be asked for it on Regatta Network or at the registration desk. Click here for the US Sailing Membership site.

USODA Membership

All Opti sailors—Red, White, Blue, and Green—are required to be a member of their class association, the United States Optimist Dinghy Association (USODA). A skipper membership is $39.  You can join at USODA.

We have a fun week planned for Texas Youth Race Week Greenies! Our PRO and Race Committee team will be providing some fun lessons each day, extra friendly competitors briefings, and a great experience on the water.

What will Green Fleet sailors do during the Start Clinic?
We have some fun regatta prep activities planned for Green Fleet sailors as well as some practice starts.

New Opti registration step-by-step:

  1. Join US Sailing or locate your family membership information and have it handy.
  2. Join USODA.  You’ll be asked for your child’s sail number, have it ready.
  3. While you are at USODA, register for Texas Youth Race Week.
